The Sindh Public Service Commission revised this syllabus in 2019 after a process that began in February 2018, and it has governed the Combined Competitive Examination from CCE-2020 onwards. The Commission's own account of why is short: the existing syllabus "became old and out of sync over a period of many years."
The examination is worth 1,200 marks in total.
| Component | Subjects | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Compulsory subjects | 6 | 600 |
| Optional subjects | chosen to total 400 | 400 |
| Written examination | 1,000 | |
| Viva voce | 200 | |
| Total | 1,200 |
Every paper is of three hours' duration, and a subject carrying 200 marks is examined in two papers of 100 marks each.
A note on this text. The Commission publishes this syllabus as a scanned document — 145 photographed pages with no machine-readable text behind them. Everything below was transcribed from those scans so that it can be read, searched and linked to. Where a scan is genuinely ambiguous it is marked; for anything that turns on an exact word, the original PDF is linked at the foot of the page.
