Procedure and eligibility

Who may sit the examination, what it costs, which documents are required, and the conduct rules that apply in the hall.

Eligibility

  1. Both male and female citizens of Pakistan (unless required otherwise by the Recruitment Rules) having domicile and permanent residence in Sindh are eligible.
  2. No person shall be admitted to the examination unless he or she:
    • Is a graduate from a recognised university.
    • Is not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1st September of the advertisement year.
    • In the case of candidates from scheduled castes, the upper age limit is 31 years on 1st September of the advertisement year.
  3. For candidates serving in connection with the affairs of the Federation and domiciled in Sindh, and persons serving in connection with the affairs of the Province of Sindh, with a continuous service of at least four (04) years on 1st September of the advertisement year, the upper age limit shall be 35 years.

Employees of autonomous / semi-autonomous bodies and local bodies are not eligible for this concession.

Centres and scheduling

  • The examination may be held at Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad. The Commission reserves the right to finally decide the place where a candidate is examined or interviewed.
  • The Government of Sindh reserves the right not to hold the examination, not to fill any post, to fill more or fewer than the number of vacancies, or to add any other post to those already announced.
  • The exact date of the examination is announced by the Commission in due course.

Application and fee

  • Application forms are entertained online only.
  • The candidate must upload a recent passport-size photograph with a white background, facing the camera directly, with both eyes open and the full face in view.
  • A fee of Rs. 1,000/- must be deposited on or before the closing date in a Government Treasury, a branch of State/National Bank of Pakistan in Sindh, or a State Treasury authorised by the Government of Sindh.
  • The challan must state the name of the candidate, the name of the examination, and the head of account "C02101 — organ of State — Exam Fee (SPSC receipts)". An application form is rejected if the candidate's name, the examination applied for, or the head of account is missing or incorrect.
  • A copy of the original challan must be retained and produced during the examination process.
  • No claim for refund of the examination fee is entertained in any circumstances; nor is it held in reserve or credited to another examination or selection.

Documents required

The candidate must be in possession of the following during the examination process:

  1. A certificate from the university that the candidate has passed the degree examination.
  2. A certificate from the Controller of Examinations of the university showing the exact date of the announcement of the result.
  3. Matriculation or Secondary School Certificate issued by the concerned Board showing the date of birth.
  4. Domicile certificate from the concerned authority of the district to which the candidate belongs.
  5. Permanent Residence Certificate (Form-D) as required under Rule 7 of the Sindh Permanent Residence Certificate Rules, 1971.
  6. Character certificates, where the candidate is not a Government servant — one from the principal or academic officer of the university, college or school last attended, and one from two responsible persons well acquainted with the candidate and not connected with that institution.
  7. For Government servants applying under the in-service age relaxation, a certificate from the head of the department or office showing at least four (04) years' continuous Government service on 1st September of the advertisement year.

All of these must be produced in original before the viva voce, failing which the candidate is neither examined nor given any other time or date.

Conduct

  • The candidate should read the titles of all compulsory and optional subjects carefully in the electronic application. Options — domicile, age, qualification, examination centre, optional subjects, preference of posts — once exercised cannot be changed after the closing date of the advertisement.
  • A candidate who knowingly furnishes false particulars, suppresses material information, submits forged certificates or tampers with age or educational certificates may be disqualified from this and subsequent examinations and recommended for debarment from further Government employment.
  • A candidate who makes false accusations or insinuations against a rival candidate shall be disqualified.
  • A candidate shall not be admitted to the examination hall without the original CNIC, the bank challan and the admission slip.
  • The candidate must reach the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. No candidate is allowed in once the examination has commenced.
  • No hand-written material, books or annotations may be brought in other than those specified in the General Instructions. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets with built-in programmes, or any other means of communication through networking, are not allowed at any cost.

Important. Answer books and scripts for all subjects are secret documents. Neither candidates nor their representatives may see them, and no re-examination or re-checking of answer books is allowed under any circumstances. Canvassing in any form disqualifies a candidate.
