How to Apply for PPSC Jobs Online: Step-by-Step Guide

The complete PPSC online application walkthrough - from picking a post and verifying your contacts to paying the fee through PSID, uploading images and getting your application number.

Every PPSC application now goes through one place: the Apply Online button on the commission's official website, ppsc.gop.pk. There is no paper form, no posted envelope and no agent who can do it "faster" for you. PPSC states plainly that it does not accept applications in any other format. The good news is that the process is the same for almost every post, so once you've done it properly you can do it for any advertisement.

This guide follows PPSC's own Online Application Procedure and its Important Instructions to Candidates (the version dated 08-10-2026), step by step.

Before you start: read the advertisement properly

PPSC publishes numbered advertisements - for example, Advertisement No. 11/2026 was published in newspapers on 09-10-2026. Each post inside an advertisement has a serial number and a case number such as 10-RH/2026, along with its BS scale, number of posts, qualification, age limit, domicile, place of posting and test syllabus. Note the case number of your post: PPSC asks you to quote it in any correspondence, together with your application number and CNIC.

Only trust the advertisement and notices on ppsc.gop.pk. The commission warns that it is the sole authoritative source, and that information shared anywhere else is not authentic. Fake pages copying PPSC branding are common, so never pay anyone through a link you found on social media.

What to keep ready

  • Your CNIC. The whole application is tied to your CNIC number and the post you select.
  • A personal email address and personal mobile number. PPSC sends PSIDs, test dates, roll number alerts and interview calls by email and SMS, and you won't be allowed to change these for that post at a later stage, so don't use a cousin's number or a cafe's email.
  • A recent photograph and a scan of the front of your CNIC, each under 25KB. Resize them before you start - oversized images are the most common reason people get stuck at the upload step.
  • Your Matric (SSC) certificate. PPSC takes your date of birth from it.
  • Degree details with total and obtained marks. At interview PPSC asks for marks or a percentage certificate for every degree - CGPA alone is not accepted.
  • Your domicile certificate, issued on or before the closing date, and the district written on it.
  • Experience certificates, professional registration (PEC, PMC/PMDC, PVMC, PNC, bar council etc.) and a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC if you are already in government service - only if your post requires them.

The application, step by step

Go to ppsc.gop.pk and click Apply Online. Select your post, review its details, read the Important Instructions and the EPay User Manual, tick the undertaking and click Apply Online again. Enter your CNIC and proceed. From there, the form runs in six phases:

PhaseWhat you doWatch out for
1. Personal ProfileEnter email and mobile, then verify them. Add date of birth, gender, employment type, disability status and armed person status, then your personal information.Check the email and mobile on the verification page - use "Change Email / Mobile" now if anything is wrong.
2. Fee PaymentThe system generates a 17-digit PSID. Pay it through any of the approved channels, then click Next.Paying the fee does not submit your application.
3. Images UploadingUpload your latest photograph and the front of your CNIC.Each image must be under 25KB.
4. QualificationsAdd each qualification and save.Enter marks exactly as on your documents.
5. Service RecordAdd your service record, if applicable, and save.Experience you can't prove with documents won't count later.
6. Final SubmissionOnce everything is complete, the Submit Application button is enabled. Read the undertaking, tick it and submit. You only have an application once you receive an Application Number.

If your session expires or you close the browser halfway, you don't lose your work. Click Apply Online again, select the same post and enter the same CNIC - the system resumes from where you left off and only asks for the remaining steps.

Paying the fee

PPSC's fee is set by the type of test, not by BS scale. The Important Instructions and the FAQ list Rs. 600 for posts recruited through a one-paper written test and Rs. 1000 for competitive examinations. Specially abled persons and PPSC employees don't pay any application or test fee. The advertisement is still the final word, so check it before you pay.

You pay against the PSID generated in Phase 2, through these channels only: ATMs, mobile phone banking, internet banking, over the counter at a 1Link member bank branch, and JazzCash, Easypaisa, UPaisa or other microfinance banks. Since May 2026, PITB has also let candidates pay PPSC fees at e-Khidmat Markaz centres. Candidates living abroad who hold a Punjab domicile pay through the same banking channels.

PPSC does not accept fees deposited on the old Challan Form (32-A), bank drafts, pay orders or cheques. Fees are not refunded, and a fee paid for one post can't be moved to another post - each post needs its own PSID and its own payment.

When the payment goes through, EPay Punjab sends you an email and SMS, and PPSC then sends a message asking you to resume and submit. If you resume and the system generates a new PSID, stop and check that you entered exactly the same CNIC and selected the same post as before - the application only resumes when both match. If you've paid and the system still won't move forward, contact your bank or payment channel to update the payment status.

After you click Submit

You'll get an Application Number on screen and an Edit Token Number by email and SMS. Save both somewhere safe. You need them to edit or print your application, and later to download your Detailed Marks Certificate (DMC).

  • Lost the application number? PPSC's CheckApplicationNo page lists every post you've applied for against your CNIC.
  • Token not received? Use "Forgot / Not Received Token No" on the Edit Application page. If SMS from PPSC is blocked on your number, PPSC says to send SUB to 8732765.
  • Found a mistake? You can edit your application, including your date of birth, until the closing date. After the closing date, a change of particulars needs a written request to the Secretary, PPSC, LDA Plaza, 7-Edgerton Road, Lahore within three days, with your application number, post and case number, your signed name, mobile number and a copy of your CNIC.

Do you need to send a hard copy?

For posts in BS-18 and below, no. You bring your original documents plus two sets of photocopies when you are called for interview, or earlier if PPSC asks. For BS-19 and above, the hard copy of the online application along with two attested sets of document copies must reach the commission's office by the closing date.

Deadlines: don't leave it for the last day

The closing date is printed on each advertisement - Advertisement No. 11/2026, for example, closes on 26 October 2026. Recent advertisements have stayed open for roughly two weeks. PPSC does not allow anyone to apply after the closing date, and it urges candidates not to wait for the last day. Remember that the fee must also be paid by the closing date: an unpaid fee is the first item on PPSC's own list of grounds for rejection.

If you get stuck, PPSC's UAN is 042-111-988-722, and the I.T. Wing helpline for online application problems is 042-99202764.

Next: prepare while you wait

Most PPSC posts are filled through a one-paper MCQ test, and the gap between the closing date and the test is your best preparation time. Check the syllabus for your post on our syllabus pages at /syllabus, then start timed practice on real PPSC past papers at /ppsc - negative marking means accuracy matters as much as coverage.
